My Weight Loss
Are you going to eat that?
My weight loss journey started in October 2008 when I saw 262 lbs on the scale and got mad. Angry, pissed off, and totally upset that I let this happen to me. Then I started a real diet January 1st, 2009, using a new years resolution as a cheap cliche to get me moving. The scale read 245 lbs that day (fat ass), and that’s where I started recording changes. I normally weigh myself every morning when I get up. I don’t record the weight unless there is a change (good or bad). Some may argue against weighing everyday, but pfft… It’s my choice, and it gives me the feedback I desire. Below is a graph of my shrinking fat ass. You see that drastic 7lb drop in 7 days at the start? Yeah, I was so pissed I stopped eating. Told you I was mad, but I got over it. I started a gym membership on 2/20/09, we’ll see if the graph speeds up a little. I’d like to see me be under 200 by my birthday at the end of July. Then on to my goal of 175 by the end of the year.
I’m also measuring waist line, but I don’t measure it very regularly. I started at 49 inches around my widest part, and as of 2/28/09 I’m at 42 inches.  Sweet huh?
I plan every meal a week in advance. I know, it’s anal, get over it. You can see my weekly menu here. This gives me a good plan, and I can shop at the grocery store very accurately. I spend a lot less money this way, and waste a lot less food. I’ll still occasionally pick up a snack that’s not on the list because I’m human, and I have needs (says the fat ass in me). Typically if something catches my eye at the grocery, I try and remember to incorporate it in next week’s menu.
**Update 3/29/09 - Sitting at 215, and maintaining the loss. See that big ass hump there after 3/8/09? Yeah, I went on a road trip and drank a lot of beer. At least it was a lot by my standards. Oh, I was pissed.
